Since this alloy belongs to the 5000 series, it features a chemical composition primarily based on a silicon-magnesium-aluminum blend. These three elements make up the majority of the alloy, while smaller amounts of zinc, copper, chromium, iron, manganese, and titanium are also present. The chromium content, in particular, enhances the alloy’s resistance to rust, oxidation, and pitting.

Similarly, 5083 aluminum round bars are enriched with iron, contributing to their impressive hardness, typically around 75 HB. These bars also offer moderate yield and tensile strength, with minimum elongation of about 12%, depending on the temper.
